argh, and then some

so i talked to my dad tonight and he's doing well, but pretty tired. he's got that thing on his head for 10 weeks. he definitely sounds better than he did in the hospital tho. so weird seeing someone like that, especially a parent, especially a dad. like he's the safest driver in the world, i'm not joking. for real, i'd bet a million trillion dollars that he is. but even if you're the safest driver out there, there's always the rest of us to worry about. he knows he's lucky to have made it out with the wounds he has. but still. still.

awhile ago brandy was having all sorts of health problems too. having headaches and dizzy and stuff. they put her on some steroids that seemed to do the trick and couldn't find anything wrong. well, the symptoms came back and it turns out that she has a brain tumor. i think she had a neurology appointment yesterday to discuss options, details, etc. so i haven't heard more about that.

riley seems to be maintaining, i guess. he's at home and i haven't heard more about anything there either. so as far as he's concerned, no news is good news.

pet peeve: people who use the "what i'm listening to" or "what i'm reading" features on their blogs and pick some random obscure music/book that nobody's ever heard of or cares about just so they can try to be cool. for real, that option is dumb. like anyone is actually honestly listening to that exact song or reading that book as they're writing. oooh, you're so smart. and deep. wow.

like oh, let me put down my copy of Edmund Spenser's "The Faerie Queen" and write a little bloggy.

puh-lease, you know i was actually reading page 62 of "Sex on the Beach: A Mixer's Manual" to find the recipe for a Woo Woo. (1/3 cranberry, 1/3 vodka, 1/3 peach schnapps). argh.

Pu-leez - everybody's entitled to their reading choices. Frankly, I don't presume to tell anyone what they should or should not be reading. But while we're on the subject, where can I get a copy of that cocktail book you were exploring?

Who is Nick? Jamie... do you have friends I don't know about? Are you trying to start a new life without me? :) Also... have you been enjoying that book?

yeah um, i honestly don't know who nick is. but cool, i checked out some of his blog_S to see if i knew him and he's got some cool poetry.

anyhoo, pretty sure i wasn't telling anyone what they should or should not read. wasn't meaning to anyway.

but when you know a person (like personally, not just blog-ally), and you just know they don't actually ever read/listen to the stuff their claiming to. just seems silly to me.

ps. the cocktail book came from a dear friend via chapters/indigo i think.
