you've bewitched me body and soul...

so we (i dragged hubby and al & heather along) went to see pride & prejudice today. i went excited to see it but tried not to have too high expectations so i wouldn't be disappointed... and well, it was great! (and it wasn't even sacreligious to me that colin firth wasn't in it!) honestly, i think i'd rather watch the long bbc version, but this is great if you're strapped for time, ya know? i was impressed with the movie: i loved that their hair wasn't perfect, their dresses were wrinkled and their house was a mess- it seemed more real than the pristine images we normally get from Jane Austin's books turned into movies. and the humor definitely came across- norm was even laughing and didn't fall asleep once! (he admitted that he was sorta glad i wasn't the only one in the theater laughing hysterically) and i didn't even notice that any major scenes were cut out...i don't think. the bit at the end is a wee bit cheesy but...well, it's hollywood.
