weekend warriors...

so we headed to my dad's this weekend avec monsieur darcy for some pre-father's day and birthday(my stepmom's) festivities. it was freezing but we had fun anyways. this is the halo that dad has had on since early april (from a motorcycle accident, for those who don't know/remember.) recap: he broke the second vertabrae in his neck so has to wear this thing. the four rods are actually screwed into his head and are attached to that vest to keep his head from turning. he goes in on wednesday and they'll take it off, do x-rays, and if it's all good, he can keep it off. then he'll just have to wear a neck brace for a bit they think. so if you think of it, pray that all goes well. he's really really anxious to get it off (he has to sleep sitting up on the couch, can't shower, can't turn his head, etc). hope he doesn't mind his picture on here...hopefully he won't look!

darcy certainly enjoyed his moments of free time and didn't even run away! (thank God for the power of doggie treats!)
